Floral smock.
I am a huge fan of smock dresses. Mainly because they hide the area that I am most concious of: my stomach.
Please ignore my face on these photos. I took them at about 12am; therefore, my make up had worn off and I was a little weary.
Anyway, there is the smock. I love anything with a 60s feel to it and I feel that this dress has that feel. I realise it is short and I would more than likely wear leggings or tights with it. I know some of you reading this will, perhaps, think that is boring, but I'm trying to grow in my confidence at wearing more daring things. As I said, it hides the area that I am not most comfortable with showing off: my stomach, and has floaty sleeves which also hide my arms when I'm not feeling too great about those either.
I bought the dress from a Next clearance store at the York Outlet. I was really pleased with this purchase, because I was, at one point, going to pay full price for the dress. So, instead of paying £40 (or maybe more) for the dress I got it for £15! See, every so often it does pay off to look in outlet shops. (I say it like that because I usually hate sales and outlet shops such as TKMaxx). I didn't buy the dress when it was originally in Next, because I wasn't sure as to whether I liked the pattern. However, with a reduced price, I decided that I like the pattern much better with £25 knocked off the price!
Enjoy!
Attempt at Zebra Print.
As promised, I am updating all my lovely (albeit, not many) followers on my recent purchases. I use the word recent loosely here, because I have bought most of them over a month ago, I've just been too busy and/or lazy to take photos and upload them onto here. However, here is the first one I've decided to introduce you all to:
So, here it is. I bought this a few months ago now. I was quite sceptical at first, because I always feel like I can't wear animal print because of the colour of my hair. However, I thought seeing as this one was pink and white (not a standard animal colour as I do recall) and the zebra stripes are broken up with actual zebras, that I would give it a try. As you can see the dress also incorporates the dip-hem trend. This was something else I was desperate to try and that persuaded the purchase for me. There is also a zip detail on the back, which I have neglected to take a photo of simply because I forgot about it, until now.
I've only actually worn the dress once, due to a lack of suitable footwear that would go with the dress.
When I did wear it, I styled it with a thin black belt at the waist, black tights, a denim jacket and my white converse. It looked pretty cool, though I think black converse (if I owned any) would have gone better.
The dress cost £12.99 from H & M. As I said, I bought it a few months ago, so I am doubtful as to whether it shall still be in stores. Perhaps as a sale item.
Enjoy.

I lied. I am sorry.
On my last post, I promised that I would post photos of recently purchased items. This hasn't happened (and it's been over a month). I shall get round to it; I've just been uber busy. So, yeah. Apologies, I shall have a day of taking photos and whatnot soon. It's harder when I'm at home to have privacy to take pictures :)
Peace and love you you, whoever you are.

Sir Shops-A-Lot
I've bought some new dresses recently. Apologies for not posting them. I shall spend tomorrow updating and posting ideas and whatnot.

Exponentially better mood.
You know when you just wake up and realise you're going to be in a better mood. Yeah? That was me this morning.
My mum is still fed up, my dad is still annoying and, yes, I'm still overweight. However, I'm in a far better mood. The only thing that's missing is Stanley.
So, anyway, because of this I thought that I would dedicate this blog to my Cayman Islands trip that occurred in May.

Many apologies, not that anyone cares.
I realise I've not written a blog for a while, but I've been on holiday and then generally busy. That and I wasn't really in the mood for taking photos for OOTDs or writing. Which is strange, because I love writing.
I'l start doing OOTDs again soon, but right now I'm not in a nice place with myself. I'm full of self-loathing right now. It's a mixture of extended period blues and the fact that I've put some weight on. It's making me burst into tears every time I look in the mirror. I don't know what's wrong. I mean I've never loved myself, but I thought I'd finally gotten to a stage where I didn't abhor everything I looked at. I've never felt fatter. Nothing I like seems to fit me and I just hate all my clothes. I just want to wear massively baggy tshirts to hide my body from the world. I can't be bothered with my hair and my make up half the time. That's when you know something is wrong, when I can't be bothered with my hair. Hence, I've not taken too many pictures of my new clothes, or just of myself, for the fleeting fashion aspect of this blog.
To top it all off, John has gone to Malia and I don't have him here to hug me. Nor, does he know what I'm feeling like because I didn't want to tell him all this before he went on holiday.
I really need to motivate myself and get back on track with my weight loss, confidence-building and liking who I am. I was really happy when it was going well and since we got back from holiday (which I shall blog about at a later date) I've been miserable. I can't even get a job to distract myself!
I'm off to watch some more Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,
